Icy Simpson has perfrmed Miss Silverpeal in Mozart's The Impresario, Sister Genevieve in Puccini's Suor Angelica. In April 2007, she portrayed Blanche Dubois in A Streetcar Named Desire by André Previn, As of September 2007, Icy will perform the role of 2nd Lady/spirit in The Magic Flute by Mozart with the University of Texas-Austin's Butler Opera Center. Icy attended the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria during the summer of 2006. She won the state and regional National Association of Teachers of Singing Competitions, District Metropolitan Opera Auditions In March 2007. Icy Rene Simpson, soprano, is pursuing a Masters of Music in Opera Performance and is a student of Professor Darlene Wiley.
