UT Trombone Students Appointed to University Positions
 

2009

Drew Leslie (DMA, 2009) was hired as trombone professor at Big 12 sister institution, the University of Missouri-Columbia.

William Mann (DMA 2008) was selected as the new trombone professor at Morehead State University in Kentucky.

Martin McCain (DMA 2008) was named low brass teacher at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.

2008

Rai Morales (MM 2006, DMA 2008 in trombone performance) has been appointed Assistant Professor of Trombone (tenure track) at West Texas A&M University.

Martin McCain (MM 2006, DMA 2008 in Trombone Performance) was appointed to a tenure-track position as Director of Instrumental Studies and Low Brass at Huston-Tillotson University.

Darin Cash (MM 2005, DMA 2007 in Trombone Performance) was appointed Visiting Lecturer in Trombone at Georgia State University in Atlanta. Darin served as trombonist for the Austin Lyric Opera and the Midland Symphony during their 2007-08 seasons.

2007

Matthew Wood (MM 2005, DMA 2007 in trombone performance) was appointed Assistant Professor of Low Brass (tenure track) at Auburn University in Alabama.

Oscar Diaz (DMA 2008 in trombone performance) was appointed Assistant Professor of Trombone (tenure track) at Texas A&M University at Kingsville.

Bill Mann, DMA student in trombone performance, won the 2007 Mississippi Symphony Orchestra Principal Trombone audition in early June. Soon after, he interviewed for and accepted an appointment as Trombone Professor at one of our Big 12 sister institutions, the University of Missouri-Columbia. Bill has declined the orchestra position and signed on at UMC last fall.

Rai Morales, a DMA student in trombone performance, was appointed Adjunct Professor of Trombone Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi.
