Writing and Teaching Samples
THEORY, MUSICOLOGY & ETHNOMUSICOLOGY:
Applicants must submit samples of their written work, and accounts of professional/scholarly activities, papers written, articles published, analyses, or any materials which would give the evaluating faculty members an indication of the applicant's organizational and writing abilities.
DOCTORAL PROGRAMS IN MUSIC & HUMAN LEARNING:
Applicants must submit sample teaching videos (DVD). The video should include at least two teaching episodes (e.g., rehearsal, private lesson, or classroom instruction) of no less than 20 minutes each. The episodes should display teacher and student interactions and be unedited.
Applicants must also submit at least one, preferably two substantive written documents that provide evidence of their skills in written communication (current version of MM thesis, articles, research papers).
