The Butler School of Music is part of the College of Fine Arts. A full-time student enrolls in 12+ credit hours.
Housing
Students may apply to live on campus after they have completed the admission application. Contracts are offered to incoming freshmen who are admitted to the University and have paid the enrollment deposit. More information about the housing application process is available on the Be a Longhorn website. On-campus housing at The University of Texas is at a premium, and application should be made as early as possible.
While there is not a "Music Major" dorm, most BSoM students live in Jester and San Jacinto Residence Halls. Learn more about the other residence halls on the Campus Communities webpage.
Course Catalogs
The General Information Catalog and the Undergraduate and Graduate Catalogs include additional information regarding admissions, deadlines, housing, costs, and other important matters. These catalogs are available through the Office of the Registrar. Individuals considering attending The University of Texas at Austin are urged to download the appropriate documents from the Registrar early in the application process.
