Join the UT Symphony Orchestra in the final concert of 2011, featuring graduate conductors Stefan Sanders and Alejandro Gutierrez. It's a jaunt abroad as Haydn's Symphony 100 "Military" celebrates with Turkish flair. Then it's on to an other-worldly Russia, where we dance with princesses and phoenixes in Stravinsky's incomparable "Firebird Suite." Finally, we head home to an 1800s Pennsylvania pioneer biopic with Copland's hallmark "Appalachian Spring." Three all-time favorite pieces performed by one of UT's premiere ensembles? This one is not to be missed! |
