CLUTCH is celebrating the early arrival of spring with a concert of fresh new music by UT composers!
Two trios -- Egemen Kesikli's MELEK and Joelle Zigman's seething TWITTERING MACHINE -- balance their tight-knit interdependence against a pair of soloistic woodwind sonatas: Brandon Scott Rumsey's saxophone opus SACRED SPACES, which draws inspiration from the mysticism of tarot, and Michael Mikulka's maniacally playful FLUTE SONATA. Brian Heim's icy WINTER FRAGMENTS for soprano and piano, based on poems by Dylan Thomas, and Matthew Jackfert's THE THRICE HOLY, performed by UT's Collegium Musicum under the direction of the composer, round out the evening.
