  • DONALD LEFEVRE

    Mr. Donald J. Lefevre serves as the director of bands and associate professor of saxophone at West Texas A&M University. Mr. Don Lefevre is responsible for all administrative aspects of the band program, coordination of faculty and staff, and student organizations. Lefevre’s responsibilities include directing the Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, and teaching saxophone, graduate level conducting and band method courses. In 2004 and 2008, the WTAMU Symphonic Band performed concerts at the Texas Music Educators Association. Recently, the WTAMU Symphonic Band was honored with a selection to perform at the 2009 College Band Directors National Association to be held at the University of Texas at Austin.

    Donald J. Lefevre holds a Bachelor of Music degree from West Texas State University and a Master of Music degree from the University of Michigan. In 2008, Lefevre received a Faculty Excellence Award from the Sybil B. Harrington College of Fine Arts and Humanities, and was a recipient of the Faculty Teaching Excellence Award, presented annually by West Texas A&M University in 2003. Lefevre serves as the principal saxophonist with the Amarillo Symphony Orchestra. He maintains an active schedule as a clinician, conductor and adjudicator, and has performed as saxophone soloist with numerous ensembles, including performances at the Western International Band Clinic, the New Mexico Music Educators Association, the Texas Music Educators Association, and the Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago, Illinois. Lefevre’s professional affiliations include the College Band Directors National Association, Texas Band Masters Association, Texas Music Educators Association, and Phi Kappa Lambda.
