The Keyboard Division is renowned both for the comprehensiveness of its degree programs and for their excellence. For a half-century, it has attracted a distinguished faculty who have taken pride in training generations of some of the most highly regarded musicians and teachers. A low faculty-to-student ratio guarantees a high degree of personal and professional interaction.
Students in the Keyboard Division enjoy some of the best equipped facilities in the world. The Butler School of Music facilities include five concert and recital halls, numerous teaching studios, classrooms and rehearsal halls and 125 practice rooms. With almost 300 pianos (including nine concert grands), four harpsichords, two clavichords, a fortepiano, a magnificent four-manual Visser-Rowland tracker organ and three practice organs, the Division's facilities are unsurpassed.
