Hanns-Bertold Dietz (Ph.D., musicology and art history, University of Innsbruck, Austria, 1956), Professor Emeritus (1999) joined The University of Texas at Austin in 1963. Visiting Professor, University of Innsbruck, 1968, 1970. Author of Die Chorfuge bei Georg Friedrich Händel (1961), numerous articles and reviews in Analecta Musicologica, Die Musikforschung, Journal of the American Musicological Society, Congress Report Bonn 1970 and Stuttgart 1985, Studi Pergolesiani, La musica a Napoli durante il seicento, Notes, the International Journal of Musicology; and over thirty entries on Neapolitan composers for Die Musik in Geschichte und Gegenwart, The New Grove, the New Grove Opera, and the Revised New Grove. He is currently working on a thematic catalogue of the works by and attributed to Francesco Durante (1684-1755).
