Dr. Jacqueline C. Henninger (Ph.D., Music Education, M.M., Music Education, and B.M. Music Studies, The University of Texas at Austin) was an Assistant Professor of Music Education at The Ohio State University before joining the School of Music faculty at The University of Texas at Austin in Fall 2005. At OSU, she taught undergraduate and graduate level courses in brass methods, woodwind methods, and instructional methods for elementary and middle school instrumental music programs. Her current teaching assignments at UT include Children’s Literature and Performance, Musical Development of Children, Supervised Teaching in Music, Instrumental Literature and Performance, Music in Multicultural Settings, and the supervision of student teachers. Her research, which has been presented at regional and national conventions, is focused on teacher preparation and her articles have appeared in the International Journal of Music Education, Journal of Research in Music Education, Texas Music Education Research, and TRIAD. Dr. Henninger was an editor and compiler of the Texas Music Education Research and is active in state and national organizations. Professor Henninger, who was a choral and band director at an urban middle school in Austin Independent School District before entering graduate school, is also an experienced events adjudicator, guest clinician, and guest conductor, working with middle school and high school band programs in Texas and Ohio.
