Darlene Wiley, Professor of Voice, has been critically acclaimed on both sides of the Atlantic for her work in lieder, opera and oratorio. She began her career as lyric coloratura at the Staatstheater in Darmstadt and sang at the opera houses of Mannheim, Wiesbaden, Kassel, Ulm and Kiel. As an oratorio performer, Wiley has performed with the Radio Sinfonie Orchestra Frankfurt, Cleveland Orchestra, Santa Fe Symphony and San Antonio Symphony. Her teaching experience includes the University of Illinois, Oberlin Conservatory and University of Maryland (Heidelberg). She holds degrees from the College of Wooster (B.M.E.) and the University of Illinois (M.M.).
