Michael Tusa (Ph.D. Princeton University, 1983), Professor, has been a member of the Musicology faculty since 1981. His interests include nineteenth-century opera, the study of the compositional process, and the history of piano music. His research has focused primarily on Carl Maria von Weber and Ludwig van Beethoven. His publications include a book, Euryanthe, and Carl Maria von Weber’s Dramaturgy of German Opera (Oxford: Clarendon Press 1991), as well as articles on Weber, Wagner, Schubert, and Beethoven in Nineteenth-Century Music, Journal of the American Musicological Society, Archiv für Musikwissenschaft, Music Review, Beethoven Forum, and New Grove (revised edition). He has served as book review editor for Beethoven Forum and the Journal of the American Musicological Society.
