Professor Richter is in his
25th year with the University of Texas. He taught previously at the
University of Michigan and the College-Conservatory of Music at the
University of Cincinnati. For fifteen years he directed the Longhorn Band
program and Symphony Band. Currently, he teaches three levels of
undergraduate instrumental conducting, band arranging, band literature,
and music business courses. In 2002 he designed a computer instructional
module for undergraduate conductors that will be available in a cdrom
format this fall. Professor Richter also teaches seminars in Plan II and
serves on the Plan II Faculty Advisory Committee. He has won recognition
from the Texas Exes, been selected as a distinguished alumnus by the Tejas
Foundation, and was recognized for undergraduate teaching excellence in
2000.
