Conference Schedule

Featured speakers will be James Lincoln Collier (renowned jazz author), John Howland (specialist in the various arranging traditions across big band jazz and jazz-related orchestral idioms in dance bands, musical theater, and the media of film and radio), and John Franceschina (author of Duke Ellington's Music for Theatre).

On Thursday, April 16, the UT Jazz Orchestra will present an All-Ellington concert. The culminating performance of the conference is Duke Ellington’s rarely performed folk opera, Queenie Pie, featuring the vocal talents of Carmen Bradford, on Friday night, April 17.
