Amanda Lester receives UT Endowed Presidential Scholarships

Trombone Performance and Plan II senior Amanda Lester has been awarded a 2012-2013 Huckin-Liedtke-Lupton Family Endowed Presidential Scholarship through the Unrestricted Endowed Presidential Scholarship (UEPS) program. This scholarship was established by the UT Board of Regents in 2001 with funds provided by the T. C. Lupton Jr. Family Foundation of Dallas, Texas. The UEPS program was created in 1973 to provide scholarships for outstanding students at The University of Texas at Austin. Recipients are selected by a presidentially appointed committee from students nominated by academic departments across the university. Selection criteria include academic excellence, demonstration of leadership and involvement in co-curricular and extracurricular activities.

Amanda was also awarded a 2012-2013 Burl H. Anderson Endowed Presidential Scholarship for the Creative Arts. This scholarship was established by the UT Board of Regents in 2002 for students in the College of Fine Arts with funds provided by the Burl H. Anderson Estate and Mr. Burl H. Anderson of Austin, Texas.

Last year Amanda received an Eva Stevenson Woods Endowed Presidential Scholarship through the UEPS program. She was also honored by the Butler School of Music for an Outstanding Junior Recital.
